True to the motto less make-up, more skin care, Koreans devote themselves intensively to their daily skin care routine in the morning and in the evening. What exactly does the so-called Korean layering method consist of? To make your daily beauty routine easier, we have shortened the extensive 10 Korean beauty routine steps to the 5 most important ones!

1. Cleansing - the dirt must be removed

Double cleansing is the Korean key to perfectly cleansed skin. For our skin to be able to absorb nourishing ingredients, it must first be thoroughly cleaned. Start with a cleansing oil or foam to remove all oil-based contaminants and waterborne contaminations including sebum, sunscreen and make-up, general environmental pollution and perspiration. After your skin is perfectly clean, finish with a peeling 1-2 times a week to remove dead skin cells and clean the pores.

2. Toner aka face tonic

The toner is the first step in the actual facial care routine. It refreshes and restores the natural pH of the skin. In addition, tonic soothes and prepares the skin optimally for the further care steps.

3. Essence - The heart of Korean skin care routine

For Koreans, the essence is the most important step in their Korean beauty routine. The essence is usually a light tincture that provides intensive hydration, accelerates the cell renewal, is refreshing and ensures a smooth, even, and radiant complexion. The different active ingredients of the individual essences penetrate deep into the skin structure where they can fully develop their effect.

4. Special eye care

The skin around the eyes is particularly sensitive and thin, making it particularly vulnerable to the first signs of aging. Therefore, it requires special care products with an extra portion of moisture which provide an intense protection against external influences. Eye creams are not rubbed in but gently tapped into the eye area. The ring finger is best suited for this because it is our weakest finger.

5. The sheet masks – As a weekly treatment

Essences are the centerpiece of Korean skin care routine, the masks are the soul. The 15-20 minute exposure time becomes your very own beauty spa moment in everyday life. The skin absorbs the natural ingredients much better than when applying a cream. Sheet masks also address different skin needs and have highly concentrated ingredients. They combat blemishes and enlarged pores, reduce wrinkles, improve the appearance of the skin, light pigmentation, tighten and give an extra dose of moisture. The skin immediately feels refreshed and smooth after use. The glow effect is lasting and lets the skin shine visibly.

Additional Facial Care - Moisturizing & Sun Protection

Sufficient hydration is equally important for body, mind, and skin. The right facial care therefore always includes a rich moisturizer that cares for the skin day and night. In the morning a lighter product is used while in the evening a rich night cream is applied.

Proper and sufficient sun protection is an integral part of the daily face and décolleté care.
